GKFF Hosts Event for Special Olympic Athletes
Jul 20, 2010
The Georgia Kayak Fishing Foundation (GKFF) recently hosted the largest kayak fishing event ever to take place in Georgia, with an admirable cause to boot! GKFF spent June 5 kayak fishing with 32 Henry County Special Olympic Athletes, bringing the total attendance to 175 people.
"It was a day that did all kayak fishermen proud and served to demonstrate what we all know; kayak anglers are a special group of people. Our day with these athletes was filled with laughter, smiles, hugs ānā high fives, and more than a few grown men wiped at their eyes," said Tony Narcisse from GKFF.
Confluence Watersports (Wilderness Systems' parent company) partners with Georgia Kayak Fishing Foundation, helping make events like this one a possibility.
