Nickname/Alter Ego: Csueper Jeanyus
Age: 20 (9/11/88)
State/Hometown: San Diego, CA
About Me: Although I am nearly half the age of most of the kayak fishing community I have over 8 years of experience in the sport and have owned most the popular fishing kayaks on the market today. I specialize in the Custom Rigging of fishing kayaks ranging from basic rod holder installation to the design and install of custom internal livewell systems.
Aside from Kayak Fishing I Love to hunt. I am especially passionate about Waterfowl hunting and love using the kayak to access the backwater where birds get less pressure. I also enjoy spearfishing making the kayak an all around great tool for all my hobbies.
Favorite Wilderness Systems Kayak: Tarpon 160 for its unmatched efficiency in the SOT world.
Must-Have Accessory or Gear: Paddle Leash. It Drives me Insane when I forget mine, Always worried about loosing the paddle. For such an inexpensive piece of equipment it is a great thing to have.
Favorite Place to Fish: The Lower Colorado River and the lakes attached to it. The less people in the area the better.
Favorite Species to Fish: Largemouth Bass in Freshwater and Spotted bay bass in the Salt.
Favorite Rod 'n Reel: For light Inshore and Bass fishing I love the Daiwa Coastal reels. They are Bulletproof and smooth, working great in both freshwater and the salt. I pair these up with a rod from Esox Fishing rods, model depending on the technique I'm using.
Favorite Bait/Lure: For freshwater bass I love the Crankbait. For Saltwater Bass however I lean more toward the Spinnerbait.
Professional Accomplishments: While I have had numerous top finishes and was close in the running for AOY in the Plastic Navy Tournament trail a few years back, I have never actually won a Kayak Fishing Event. In time hopefully this will change but for now I would say my biggest accomplishment is in getting new anglers into Kayak Fishing and helping them outfit the kayak that best fits them.
Why You Love Kayak Fishing: The ease and Simplicity of Kayak Fishing are definitely top of my list. Also You just cant beat the kayak when you need to squeeze into an area the boat just wont fit such as many of the outlets we fish on the Colorado River.
