Russ Jones
Russ Jones is the owner/administrator of www.canadiankayakanglers.com, a Scotty pro-staffer and the first Canadian member on the Wilderness fishing team. His proximity to Lake St. clair, Lake Erie and the Detroit River means he spends most of his time chasing around fat walleye, smallies, musky and so on. Russ is also an accomplished wildlife artist (www.russ-jones.com), a naturalist and a father.
Aside from Russ' personal experiences, his most memorable kayak fishing
event was when he took a buddy out on his first musky fishing trip,
which happened to result in a record musky catch from a kayak (48
inches). When asked why he loves kayak fishing, Russ responded, "It is an environmentally responsible way to enjoy our natural resources, it is challenging in every way, it gives me solitude and puts me on the fish in the stealthiest way possible. All of this leaves me with a feeling of great satisfaction everytime I hit the water."
