Steve Garcia

Steve fell in love with kayaking and fishing at the same time; to him one is the perfect compliment to the other. "There is something about a kayak fully rigged for fishing that is a thing of beauty. It's an extension of yourself when you are out on the water." Steve started his love for the sport, fresh water fishing, but then he made a trip to the coast where he landed his first redfish. After that day, he realized he was addicted and moved only a mile away from where he had caught that life changing fish.
Now, you can find him most mornings poling his Tarpon 160 along the grass flats searching for reds. "I love my Tarpon 160, it the perfect kayak for my style of fishing: fast, efficient, and it can handle strong winds." Steve is also one of the few licensed Kayak Guides with Texas Parks & Wildlife in the area. This allows him to share his love of the sport with others.
A close second to Steve's passion for fishing is his love of photography. "There are so many amazing things that happen out on the water, whether it is as spectacular as a Osprey crashing down on an unsuspecting mullet or as common as a sunrise. Being in a kayak, you're able to be a part of the environment while causing minimal disturbance, having a good camera is a must on any trip."
Steve spends most of his time on the Texas coast but also enjoys part of the year in the mountains of Northern Colorado where he and his wife have a small cabin with several ponds & streams to fish trout nearby.
