Louis' Story
I will always remember my first close encounter with blue whales. At first it was a little frightening! I had encountered minke and pilot whales while sailboarding but the stand up position and their smaller size are not as impressive. Sitting in a kayak, being so close to the water and the sheer size of the blue whale makes this experience so special.
Since that time,I have tried to do it annually. I will always enjoy being on the water around 5H00 am, watching the sun rise, listening to the whales breathing and watching the horizon through the morning fog hoping to see one coming in my direction. Going to my favorite paddling spot to paddle with the whales is like a pilgrimage for me!
