ATAK 140

Average: 5 (1 vote)

I've had two ATAK 140's over the last 3 years. This is my favorite kayak to date. The front hood is perfect for on the water storage. The deck offers plenty of room for standing. The seat is second to none. This boat, in my opinion, represents the perfect balance of performance and stability.

My absolute favorite

Average: 5 (1 vote)

I have fished out of a bunch of kayaks from various brands over the years, and I currently own 5 Wilderness Systems kayaks. Of them all, I keep coming back to the ATAK 140. It is so fun to fish from, and the big open deck is perfect for my style of fishing, as well as fly fishing. It takes a few strokes to get up to speed, but it really moves and tracks incredibly well. The seat is incredibly comfortable, and it sheds wind better than any kayak I have ever set foot in. It is definitely among the cream of the crop when it comes to fishing kayaks.

Stable, Fast, Quiet

Average: 5 (1 vote)

I have owned a variety of kayaks throughout the years, and without a doubt the ATAK 140 is the most stable by far. Standing to cast or fly fish is accomplished with ease, at no point have I ever felt the kayak was unstable. Aside from its stability, paddling the ATAK is a breeze - very fast and the hull is quiet moving through the water. The ATAK also has plenty of legroom and a great seat - you can fish all day and never feel uncomfortable. The ATAK 140 is a great fishing kayak -

I was very excited when I purchased this kayak but I was even more excited when I rigged it and got it on the water. Unbelievable comfort, control, and speed. If you like a large fishing platform then this kayak is for you.

Favorite kayak I've ever paddled

Average: 5 (1 vote)

I've always paddled fairly skinny kayaks because the wider kayaks always seemed to paddle more like a barge than a kayak. I got in this kayak and was amazed at just how well it paddled. It turns well, tracks well, and allows you to cover a lot of water without feeling exhausted. The stability of this boat is second to none. I can walk from bow to stern without tipping or falling off. The seat lets me fish all day without any fatigue. I love the ability to stand and sight fish salt flats as well as bedding bass in the spring. I can even throw a cast net standing in the ATAK. The flex pod is such an amazing innovation. My biggest problem with putting electronics on other kayaks that I have owned was the inability to take them off when I wasn't using them or when I was storing the kayak, the flex pod allows me to do that. Overall this is the best kayak I've ever paddled and I plan on putting a lot more miles on it.

Grab & Go

Average: 5 (1 vote)

My favorite thing about my ATAK 140 is the ability to store all of my gear for a trip on the salt. When I get back from trips I rinse everything, let it dry, and then load it back in the boat. When I get ready for my next adventure all I have to do is load the kayak in the back of the truck and I know I have everything I need. Everything stores securely under the deck (yes, there really is that much space) and I never worry about losing anything going down the highway. There are so many other great features on this yak, but the ability to "grab-and-go" is at the top of my list.

The most stable kayak on the market but still paddles well. Low profile keeps the wind from wrecking your day!
