Review of 2020 Tarpon 120
Bought Tarpon 120 for general recreational use for both lake and slow river flow. I am big guy 6’4” 270.lbs. First experience on a lake. Ride was stable and kayak rode much higher in the water than I expected. Tracking was very good and maneuverability satisfactory. Liked the dry box at the front of the seat and magnetic water holder held fast. Self-bailing scupper tubes allowed about a half-inch of water during most of my time on the water. Small amount of water entered the scupper tubes under my seat and only soaked the bottom of my swim suit. Front and back cargo hatches provide good water integrity with no visible water in either void area. Aft tank well cover provides great flexibility for storage of larger items (dry bag or cooler) Handle positions helped loading and unloading as well as tie down points for transporting. The seat adjustment was great and easy to setup, very comfortable and great air flow. Placing scupper plugs under the seat for cooler weather maybe only challenge; access requires removing seat pan screws to get access to tubes. Overall I am very happy with the Tarpon 120 and it met all my expectations for an on-top kayak.
great kayak
Love my Tarpon 12 easy to load and unload easy to get in the water. Great for lakes and rivers and for beginners. The seat could always be a little more comy after a few hours would be my only recomendation for the future.
