About Me:

I grew up in a small East Texas town far from the hustle and bustle of city life. My Dad was an outdoorsman and most of my favorite childhood memories revolve around our hunting and fishing adventures. When we weren't on the ranch I would spend my afternoons pond hopping through the pastures around my home. It was not abnormal for us to strap a 10 ft Jon boat into the back of my truck and just keep driving until we found a place that looked "fishy". My first kayak trip was with Dean "Slowride" Thomas in a Tarpon 160 on the flats of Aransas Pass and I have been chasing redfish from a Wilderness Systems kayak ever since. I am a husband, a father of two, a high school teacher and a basketball coach which keeps my schedule pretty full, but you can guarantee if I have free minute I am loaded up and saltwater bound.

Why I Love Kayak Fishing:

Peace and quiet is a priceless commodity that seems to be most attainable from the cockpit of my kayak. I am passionate about getting "lost" in the outdoors and observing things that can only be seen paddling. The sound of paddle drips on a quiet morning, the sunrise over a flat bay, or the rapids on a remote river. All of these things help to recharge my batteries and I couldn't imagine going through life without experiencing them. . .OH YEAH, I like to fish too!
