About Me:

Sam is a United States Navy veteran. He served as a shipboard electrician onboard the USS San Antonio LPD-17 from 2007-2012. After serving 5 years he separated from Navy and is currently enrolled in Florida International University while pursuing a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering. Sam is an avid kayak angler who is very active in the kayak fishing community. He volunteers as the Secretary for South Florida Chapter of Heroes On The Water and spends most of his time off the books on the water chasing exotic freshwater species’ as well as everything from inshore to offshore on his Ride 135.

Why I Love Kayak Fishing:

Kayak fishing connects me to Mother Nature in a way that no other water craft ever could. There’s something special and humbling about being 3 miles out in the middle of the ocean on a plastic boat that puts life into perspective. Not to mention that fishing South Florida canals on my boats is the most therapeutic activity I can think of. Nothing feels better after 3 or 4 grueling months of school or work.
