Captain Kayak of Sayville, N.Y. is pleased to announce they will again host

The 2016 Kayak Fishing Classic at Jamaica Bay.

This 4 day catch and release kayak event will take place in the Gateway National Recreation Area at Floyd Bennett Field, Brooklyn, N.Y. from Thursday, May 12 to Sunday, May 15 2015. We would like to thank all the past sponsors and participants in making this event the largest kayak fishing tournament in the Northeast.

All proceeds from the tournament go to support Heroes On the Water, Send A Kid Fishing and the Sport Fishing Education Center of the Sportfishing Alliance, all the above being registered 501-C-3 charities.

This year’s tournament is one of just a handful of qualifying events in the United States for the 2016 Hobie Worlds Championship (date and location to be announced soon). The Kayak Fishing Classic is a great way to catch the first fish of the season, hook up with old and make some new friends, all for the benefit of worthy causes. Those of us who share the enthusiasm for the sport of kayak fishing know this is a premier event that shouldn’t be missed.
