Posted: 08.21.2014

We’ve been talking about our new big water boat, the Thresher, for a while now and got the chance to fully unveil it at ICAST to a great response. The feedback is no different here at OR and folks are really getting a sense of how well this boat can perform on both ocean and inland applications. What’s really been buzzing though is the sheer capacity and accessory customization available on these boats. Check out some these key features that are sure to make the most of your angling experience:

Tankwell Storage

Not only is the tankwell storage huge at about 40″ L x 18″ W x 7″ H, we’re also developing an aftermarket integrated 9 gallon live well complete an 8″ round Orbix hatch, 3 rod holders and deck fitting to secure it safely into the tankwell. Release is targeted for the end of 2014.

Center Hatch

At 23″ L x 6″ W x 8.5″ H, the functional center hatch is great for rod, tackle and break-down paddles. On top of the center hatch is an 8″ SlideTrax, bungee rigging and an 18″ measuring graphic. Aftermarket storage trays for lighter tackle and smaller gear organization will be available 9/1 through our accessories page

FlexPod OS

The new FlexPod OS (oversized) is designed for installing and consolidation fish finder electronics/batteries, but is equally functional for additional storage when not used for electronics. It latches tight, very easily, and is a cinch to remove. Be on the lookout for an aftermarket mounting hardware kit and foam-formed battery storage soon.

Bow Storage/Hood

The hinged bow hood gives access to a large 26″ L x 8-16″ W x 8″ H storage well in the bow of boat with scuppers and scupper plugs coming standard. Accommodations can be made for an aftermarket 4.5″ deck hatch for access to the interior of the bow. The hood itself has a rubber hood strap for quick paddle storage, and silent traction grip tape can be added aftermarket for extra hold. The hood was designed with grooves to also cradle paddle shafts and fishing rods, and has a low profile rubber latch system to secure the hood and avoid line snags.
